Past Vice-Presidents

Behind every president is their valued vice-president, as Bob Russell wasn't to Jed Bartlet, so to are these fine examples.

Rob MacQuarie (2013 - 2014)

Rob Macquarie

Hi, I'm your Vice-President, Rob, and you'll see me about the place all year. One of my main responsibilities is running Freshers' Week for all the incoming students this October. Like Christina, I'm a PPEist, and also a dance enthusiast, recently taking the gold medal in the 2013 Hula Dancing championships. I'll be using the winnings to travel to Hawaii in the Christmas Vac to learn from the former world champion Lupeka Akepul. If you have any questions at all, Hula related or not, please feel free to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Mikey Connolly (2012 - 2013)

 Mike Connolly

Being Vice President means I get to spend an increasingly dubious amount of time with the lovely Oscar, which could never be considered a bad thing! My major role is the organisation and execution of freshers week – which has proved to be a lot more complicated than I first envisaged. Turns out its not just a case of picking fresher children and hoping that they find things to do when they get here… But despite this we have an incredible week already lined up for next year – So any future freshers reading this get excited, it’s going to be one to remember!
When I’m not busy doing JCR’y stuff, you’ll find me at one of two places – either in the lab trying to find a way of synthesising a new chemical (usually not succeeding), or doing a rowing related activity. I apologise in advance now to anyone who has/will see me after a 2k test, it’s not a pretty sight. Together these 3 things pretty much fill up all my time at Oxford, but there’s always time for a cheeky trip to park end.

Conn McGrath (2011 - 2012)

 Conn McGrath

Conn is a medic from Belfast and when he is not hands deep in dead bodies he is your VP. With an ability to dance rivalled by none, and an accent to constantly keep you amused he will make sure your freshers‘ week, and the year beyond will be 'great craic'!
